Friends of Chandler Public Library Launch Season of Friendship Giving Campaign

Volunteer

City of Chandler issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.

As the community moves into the season of gratitude and giving, the Friends of the Chandler Public Library (CPL) celebrate the Season of Friendship, acknowledging the impact that direct community support has on making a powerful difference in the lives of many.

Every year, thousands of patrons enter one of the four Chandler Public Library locations or utilize the many online resources, perhaps not knowing there is a volunteer group of literacy advocates working behind the scenes to ensure that important library programs and services are strengthened through private and corporate gifts. Friends of Chandler Public Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the important work of CPL. For the last 40 years, the community’s generosity through used book sales, direct giving, legacy, and corporate gifts, has enabled the Friends to provide annual sponsorships for some of the Library’s most valued traditional and innovative endeavors.

In 2021, the Friends of the Chandler Public Library committed over $67,000 in annual Library sponsorships. The Library’s first grade reading program, Summer Reading Challenge, STEAM programming, Adult Literacy, Grab & Go Kits, Our Stories, PressReader, and so much more, all receive funds from the Friends of the Library.

“Chandler Public Library is so incredibly fortunate to have the support of the community and this wonderful group of volunteers. So much of what we do would not be possible without the generosity of Chandler businesses and residents,” says Library Manager, Rachelle Kuzyk.

Friends of the Chandler Public Library thank those who have donated in the past, and once again ask for annual support of the Library. A gift to the Friends is a powerful way to sustain and strengthen library programs and services and fund efforts that build a better community. Donors can give directly to the Season of Friendship campaign online.
