The Chandler Fire Department is set to host a community open house on Saturday, November 16, from 9 a.m. to noon at Fire Station No. 6. This event aims to educate residents about the services provided by the department and share important safety, fire prevention, and emergency preparedness information.

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the station and view displays of fire trucks, ambulances, and other apparatus. Demonstrations of emergency medical services will also be conducted. Additionally, blood pressure checks and drowning prevention information will be available for those interested.

Children attending the event can participate in hands-on instruction in the Fire Safety House display, where they will learn how to safely exit a smoke-filled environment. Free balloons and fire helmets will be distributed to young visitors.

A key feature of the open house is instruction on Hands-Only CPR. According to experts, this method has been shown to be as effective as conventional CPR when performed by a bystander during emergencies at home, work, or in public spaces. The two essential steps are: call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest.

Fire Station No. 6 is located at 911 N. Jackson St., between McQueen Road and Hamilton Street. For further details about the open house event, individuals can contact 480-782-2120 or visit Chandler Fire Open House online.
