"On June 1st, the Governor’s office released the updated Phoenix Active Management Area Groundwater Model which showed a shortfall in groundwater available to meet already planned demands throughout the Valley.
As a result, the state has temporarily halted new assured water supply approvals for developments that rely solely on groundwater.I want to reassure our community that Gilbert is not affected by these actions as we have a designation of assured water supply, and are not solely dependent on groundwater.Gilbert is well-positioned to continue to develop and thrive, as we actively monitor and plan for changing conditions on the Colorado River. Gilbert will remain resilient and sustainable because of our diverse water portfolio, investment in infrastructure, and our water conservation and efficiency programs."
