Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs has expressed concerns about the ongoing border crisis and the potential presence of Hamas members in the U.S. These remarks come amid the ongoing reports of significant casualties stemming from the Israel-Hamas conflict that escalated over the weekend.
"How many Hamas sleeper cells have crossed our southern border under the Biden Administration’s policies? We are not prepared," said Biggs.
The conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in a death toll of over 900 people, with thousands injured. Among the deceased, there were at least 11 American citizens. Israel has declared war on Hamas following the attack.
Hamas, known for its resistance against Israel, is one of the major political parties in the Palestinian territories. The United States officially designated Hamas as a foreign terrorist organization in 1997 due to its use of tactics like suicide bombings. Iran is among the significant supporters of Hamas.
The Biden Administration has faced accusations regarding its alleged "role" in the attack. Last month, Biden unfroze access to $6 billion in assets, intended for controlled funds and humanitarian purposes. However, Iran reportedly indicated an intention to spend the funds as they see fit.
The Biden Administration has also faced criticism for hosting a barbecue event shortly after the attack in Israel, which resulted in war breaking out.
In the wake of the recent attack, immigration concerns have taken center stage among U.S. lawmakers. Many are raising questions about the potential infiltration of terrorists through illegal immigration, especially amidst the ongoing border crisis. Former President Trump has alleged that members of Hamas are entering the country through the open border and plotting attacks on U.S. soil. This has ignited a broader debate about the Biden administration's border control measures and its impact on national security.
Arizona State Senator Justine Wadsack has criticized the Biden administration for giving Iran $6 billion last month while Israel was at war with Hamas. Wadsack expressed concerns about America's open borders and the potential threat of terrorist infiltration.
American conservative political commentator Lou Dobbs has also questioned the number of radical Islamist terrorists who may have crossed the southern border into the U.S. in the past two and a half years, calling for answers from the Biden administration.
The ongoing border crisis and the potential presence of Hamas members in the U.S. continue to be subjects of concern and debate as the Israel-Hamas conflict escalates.
