Fireworks will return this year to Tempe Beach Park. The Kiwanis Club of Tempe presents the 73rd Annual Tempe 4th of July Celebration on Thursday, July 4, from 4-10 p.m. The event promises an evening filled with games, food, drinks, entertainment for children, live music, and a fireworks show over the lake. Additionally, attendees arriving before 6 p.m. can witness a U.S. Air Force F-35 flyover.

General admission tickets are priced at $12 pre-sale and $15 at the door for adults, $5 for children, and free for children aged five years and under. Children aged twelve and under will receive free general admission before 6 p.m. when accompanied by a paid adult.

VIP tickets are available at $50 for children and $100 for adults. These tickets include shaded seating, a catered dinner, non-alcoholic drinks, dessert, a special light-up gift, activities for children, and more.

The annual event raises funds for local youth organizations.

Public parking is available in surrounding areas but is very limited. Due to expected high traffic and crowds on July 4th, public transportation or ride-sharing is highly encouraged.

The City of Tempe advises residents to be considerate with fireworks during Independence Day celebrations as they can negatively affect veterans, people with asthma or autism, pets, birds, and other animals.

Arizona State law allows certain consumer fireworks in Tempe through July 6. However, firecrackers, bottle rockets, and roman candles are not permitted within city limits. Residents are urged to check the list of legal fireworks on the city's website.

If illegal fireworks are observed in neighborhoods, residents should contact the Tempe Police non-emergency number at 480-350-8311.

Several heat relief locations will operate holiday hours on July 4th. Facilities such as Tempe Church of Christ, the Church of Epiphany, and University Presbyterian Church will open regular hours. Additional information about cooling centers can be found on the Heat Relief Network website or by calling 2-1-1.

In observance of Independence Day, all administrative offices in the City of Tempe will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. Several recreation facilities will remain open; a full list of closures is available online.
