The Chandler City Council has reduced the city’s primary property tax rate for the ninth consecutive year to mitigate the impact of increased property values. The one-cent rate reduction lowers Chandler’s combined property tax rate to $1.0826 per $100 of assessed property value for fiscal year 2024-2025, which began on July 1.

The combined property tax rate consists of primary and secondary rates. The primary property tax rate of $0.2126 per $100 of assessed value funds the general operations of the city. The secondary property tax rate of $0.87 per $100 of assessed value funds debt service payments on outstanding general obligation bonds used to pay for capital improvement projects.

The City of Chandler represents approximately 11 percent of the total property taxes paid by residents. Public schools and community college districts account for roughly 70 percent of a typical property tax bill in Chandler, while Maricopa County and special taxing districts make up the remaining 19 percent.
