Elaine Tang, a senior at Gilbert Classical Academy (GCA), has been named a semifinalist for the 2025 Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation scholarship. This achievement-based program seeks well-rounded young leaders who excel academically and are actively involved in their communities. To qualify, students must show service orientation and a commitment to community improvement.

Tang has previously made an impact locally by inspiring her school to support cancer patients at Banner Gateway Medical Center. Her efforts led to the creation of care packages through a fundraising event, which raised over $1,000 and collected numerous items like blankets and handmade crafts.

Now as a semifinalist, Tang is among the top 1.27% of over 105,000 applicants nationwide. Semifinalists will submit further applications for review, with the top 250 advancing as regional finalists competing for 150 scholarships worth $20,000 each.

"We are incredibly proud of Elaine for being named a Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Semifinalist. Her dedication to academic excellence and community service is truly inspiring,” said Dr. Dan Hood, Principal at Gilbert Classical Academy. “We are confident that she will continue to make a positive impact in the world."
