The Chandler Museum is currently hosting a traveling exhibition titled "Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross," showcasing the work of renowned comic book artist Alex Ross. Known for his vivid illustrations of iconic superheroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man, Ross has been a significant figure in the comic book industry for nearly three decades.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to view some of Ross's most famous artworks. Additionally, they can explore his development as an illustrator through displays of childhood drawings, preliminary sketches, paintings, and 3-D head busts of Marvel characters. The exhibition was developed by the Bess Bower Dunn Museum.

"Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross" is open now and will be on display until January 19, 2025. The Chandler Museum is located at 300 S. Chandler Village Drive and welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

The museum aims to serve as a community resource for exploring history and culture within its walls and beyond. More information about the exhibitions and related programming can be found by contacting the museum or visiting their website.

Ross began drawing at a young age, illustrating TV commercials from memory at just three years old. By thirteen, he was creating original comic books. His career took off with the visual history of Marvel Comics' central characters in "Marvels" (1994), followed by the influential series "Kingdom Come" (1996). His contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including repeated wins for Favorite Painter in the Comic Buyer's Guide Awards.
