At a recent board meeting, Mesa Public Schools highlighted Mesa Academy for Advanced Studies as the Spotlight School. Principal Nichole Wilfert acknowledged several individuals for their contributions to the school community.

Tina Wylie was recognized as an exceptional certified staff member. "Tina exemplifies the very best of Mesa Academy," Wilfert stated. Her dedication to students and families, coupled with her expertise, makes her a valuable team member. As the facilitator of the Academy Broadcast Service (ABS), she offers students an engaging experience that teaches communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.

Lisa Woods was honored as an exceptional classified staff member. According to Wilfert, "Lisa Woods is the heart of Mesa Academy for Advanced Studies." Known for her warm demeanor and problem-solving skills, Lisa ensures a welcoming environment at the school.

Elijah Shaw received recognition as an exceptional student. Described by Wilfert as embodying "the true spirit of a Mesa Academy Knight," Elijah is noted for his dedication both in academics and athletics. Despite having a heart condition requiring a pacemaker since infancy, he has excelled on the basketball court and participated in commercials for the 2024 Final Four Tournament.

Enrollment is currently open at Mesa Academy and other locations within Mesa Public Schools.
