Gilbert Public Schools, in collaboration with the Gilbert Education Foundation, is organizing a community event at Campo Verde High School on February 22, 2025. The day will start with the Run for Fun at 7:30 am, followed by the Healthy Connections Expo from 9 am to 12 pm. This event aims to promote healthy lifestyles and provide resources for families in Gilbert and Mesa.

The GPS Run for Fun is an annual event encouraging physical activity and supporting student success. Participants can choose between a 5K or a 1-mile route. Registration is still open, and schools with the most participants can win $500. Proceeds will benefit the Gilbert Education Foundation's programs that enhance educational experiences in Gilbert Public Schools.

Check-in for the run begins at 7:30 am on the Campo Verde High football field. The 5K starts at 7:30 am, while the 1-mile walk/run follows at 8:45 am. An awards ceremony will take place afterward.

The Healthy Connections Expo offers activities, food trucks, entertainment, and information about enrichment programs from GPS Community Education. Raffle prizes include summer camp weeks and discounts on preschool tuition. Families can learn about various programs like Preschool Programs and Parent University through interactive demonstrations.

Rod Huston, Director of Community Education at GPS, stated, "The Healthy Connections Expo offers a great opportunity for families to discover the wide range of enrichment programs offered by Gilbert Public Schools."

Additionally, the Community Resource Fair will connect families with local resources supporting well-being. It features booths and presentations from organizations offering support services.
