Rep. Greg Stanton, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 4th district, has shared updates and community events via social media. Stanton, who has been a congressional representative since 2019 after succeeding Kyrsten Sinema, often highlights local developments and cultural happenings in his posts.
On March 8, 2025, Stanton expressed enthusiasm for the completion of test runs by Valley Metro on the South Phoenix Light Rail extension to Baseline. He highlighted that "South Phoenix is ready for Light Rail!" and mentioned that when it opens this summer, the extension will connect South Phoenix to new economic opportunities including jobs and education.
Later that day, Stanton encouraged attendance at a local event by posting about the Tempe Festival of the Arts. He noted that attendees could enjoy "creations from hundreds of artists—plus tasty treats from local vendors, live performances and arts programming" during the festival held on Mill Ave.
In another post on March 9, 2025, Stanton announced that "The South Central Light Rail extension opens later this summer!" He acknowledged years of work behind the project and credited strong local leadership and sustained federal investment as crucial factors in its realization.
