Town of Marana issued the following announcement on June 29
In light of the new social distancing regulations established by Governor Ducey as well as fire concerns due to the dry weather, the Town of Marana has made the very difficult decision to cancel the July 4 fireworks show.
“This is the first time in a long time that the Town of Marana is not throwing the traditional Star Spangled Spectacular festival,” said Town Manager Jamsheed Mehta. “While we understand and share the community’s disappointment, we are focused on maintaining everyone’s health and safety during this time.”
The Town of Marana had originally planned to launch fireworks from within Crossroads at Silverbell District Park on July 4. No members of the public would have been permitted on the property, and all festivities associated with the annual Star Spangled Spectacular had been canceled due to fire safety.
Crossroads at Silverbell District Park will be open to the public on July 4. Members of the public should follow social distancing guidelines while in public.
