Psychology of Gratitude: The Art & Science of Gratitude - The Your Brain on College talk for Gratitude Week. This presentation will be presented by Dr. Fernando Romero, CGCC Psychology Faculty. Dr. Romero is also a consultant at his own personal practice called BrainEnlight where he provides coaching and training to individuals and organizations interested in applying positive psychology principles to improve outcomes and performance.

We would like to invite you to a very special event featuring slam poet, hip-hop artist, writer, and teacher, Myrlin Hepworth. Myrlin’s work is grounded in both hip-hop and the literary arts. Myrlin was named the Arizona Humanity’s Council’s Rising Star Award recipient for his work as a youth advocate and teaching artist. Over the better part of a decade, Myrlin has performed for and worked with well over a hundred thousand Arizona youth, and tens of thousands of youth across the nation.

Gratitude of Movement

Celebrate Gratitude of Movement. Sessions will include a guided meditation by Dr. Fernando Romero, a Yoga component and a Low Intensity Interval Training component (LIIT). Diane Krupa-Hoentz (CGCC Yoga, Pilates and Stretch and Relaxation instructor) will engage you in Yoga Breath and Movement Poetry in Motion, while Corey Wick (CGCC Fitness Center Team Member- Certified Personal Trainer) will utilize LIIT to connect movement with your body.

This event will be emceed and feature performances by Phonetic Spit, a local group dedicated to creating safe spaces to empower people to establish their voice and use it to become driven and contributing citizens of the world.

Jose's Closet Donation Drive

Agave Community Room (March 1-2 only)
We will be collecting items for Jose's Closet. Items can be dropped off at the Student Center Pavilion, Ironwood 231 from February 21 - March 2 and the Agave Community Room from March 1-2. Jose's Closet offers members the items they need for the children in their homes. Members are invited to shop (at no cost) for head-to-toe clothing for each child in their home several times per year.
Jose's Closet Donation Drive Needs:
- Stage 2 baby food, except applesauce
- Peanut butter & jelly
- Tortillas
- Alfredo sauce
- Kid cereal especially Honey Nut Cherrios , Frosted Flakes & Life
- Canned chicken and tuna
- Shampoo
- Bread
- Chicken and bean with bacon soup
- Saltines
- Kids individually wrapped kids snacks
- Baby wipes
