The Franklin Accelerated Academy in Downtown Mesa is preparing for a series of events and activities aimed at engaging students and their families. Principal Merritt has announced that the Family BBQ will take place tomorrow, providing an opportunity for families to gather on campus. The school will have an early release on Friday, March 8th, at 12:45 PM, followed by Spring Break from March 10th to March 14th.

A Spring Carnival is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event will feature raffle basket drawings with themes assigned to each grade level. "Kinder- Crayola Fun," "1st Grade- Movie Night," "2nd Grade- Gamer," "3rd Grade- Legos," "4th Grade- Sports," "5th Grade- Arts and Crafts," and "6th Grade- Water Fun" are the designated themes.

The school is also launching a T-shirt sale featuring a throwback design from over two decades ago. Orders can be placed online until March 18th, with youth shirts priced at $16 and adult shirts at $24.50.

In addition, the Student Council's Spring Service Project will begin on March 17th with a pet drive supporting Follow Your Heart animal rescue. Students are encouraged to donate unused pet supplies through the date of the Spring Carnival.

Several students have achieved recognition by joining the Mesa Young People's Orchestra. Sixth graders Esther Mejia-Astorga, Daniel Rocha, and Nathan Culin were selected as part of this prestigious group. Furthermore, twelve fifth and sixth-grade students participated in the Mesa Festival Choir over the weekend under the guidance of music teacher Mrs. Dixon.

Upcoming events include Spirit Day on Friday, March 7th; group pictures on Tuesday, March 18th; and a fifth-grade field trip to Biztown on Friday, March 21st.
