February was an eventful month at Franklin Downtown, with various activities and events planned for students and families. Principal Merritt expressed gratitude for the community's ongoing support during this busy period.

A highlight of the month was Family Fun Night, held on Tuesday, February 11, at Peter Piper Pizza located at Gilbert and Baseline. The event promised engaging games for students and a chance for one class to win a pizza party during lunch.

The week from Monday, February 24 to Friday, February 28 was designated for Parent Conferences and the Scholastic Book Fair. According to Principal Merritt, "Parent conferences are an important part of our accelerated program as it gives parents and teachers an opportunity to discuss student progress and make plans of support for the remainder of the school year."

The school also offered after-school support for families needing extra help with curriculum or resources. Bilingual family support specialist Ivonne Argomaniz was available to assist those who reached out through a provided form or in person after school.

Several themed days took place throughout the month. On Friday, February 7, students participated in Dress to Impress Spirit Day. Upcoming events included another Spirit Day on March 7 featuring Mismatch Day.

Additionally, key dates included a field trip for fourth graders to the Phoenix Zoo on February 7 and various celebrations on February 14 such as Presidents Day Assembly and Valentine's Classroom Parties.

Looking ahead into March, notable events include a Franklin Downtown Family BBQ scheduled for Thursday, March 6.
