Over the 2023 holiday season the Mesa Police Department will be out in force looking for impaired drivers by conducting DUI enforcement in support of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) DUI Holiday Task Force. The Task Force will be in force through Jan. 1, 2024. The Task Force will primarily be operational during the hours from 5 pm – 3 am on event nights.

The annual Holiday DUI Task Force are local law enforcement agencies promoting a common mission: Removing alcohol/drug impaired drivers from off roadways to create safer streets throughout the valley. In addition, the Mesa Police Department wants to reduce the number of impaired driving related vehicle collisions, and the needless injuries and fatalities associated with these types of collisions.

With that said, the Mesa Police Department highly encourages everyone to enjoy the holiday season this year but do it responsibly. If you are planning on consuming alcohol always have a designated driver. If you witness any type of unsafe driving and suspect someone driving while impaired immediately report it to your local law enforcement agency. Happy Holidays!
