Mesa, Arizona is inviting residents to join in the celebration of winning the prestigious All-America City Award for the second time in history. The award recognizes Mesa's outstanding youth programs that promote engagement, educational attainment, and community service. To showcase this achievement, a special exhibit has been set up at all three Mesa Public Library branches.

The colorful exhibit, designed by valley artist Jayarr Steiner, takes visitors on a journey through Mesa's efforts to win the National Civic League award. The Main Library on 64 E. First St. features photos and excerpts from Mesa's previous All-America City wins in 1979 and 2023. The Red Mountain Branch on 635 N. Power Road has a selfie station display representing Mesa's All-America City community delegation and the theme "Creating Thriving Communities Through Youth Engagement." The Dobson Ranch Branch on 2425 S. Dobson Road highlights Mesa's exceptional youth programs.

Additionally, a Main Street storefront at 111 W. Main St. showcases the physical display and the apparel used during the All-America City competition. This provides an opportunity for residents to engage with the exhibit and learn more about Mesa's journey to becoming an All-America City.

To further celebrate this achievement, Mesa will host the All-America City Day on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2023, in downtown Mesa. The event aims to showcase the community's diversity through youth performances, local entertainment, and free fun and games. It will be a throwback hometown-themed celebration that embraces the spirit of Mesa's achievement.

This recognition is a result of the city's commitment to diversity initiatives under the umbrella of Together Mesa. As part of the process, Mesa presented various youth programs and initiatives such as Project Lit, Hacktivate, SPARC (Sports Program Activities Reuniting Communities), the Mayor Youth Committee, and Mesa College Promise to a panel of national judges. Over 50 young participants, program managers, and elected officials took part in the presentation, highlighting Mesa's dedication to empowering its youth.

Mesa's previous All-America City win was in 1979, making this year's achievement even more significant. The city's dedication to fostering youth engagement and creating thriving communities has been recognized once again. The All-America City Award serves as a testament to Mesa's commitment to its residents and their well-being.

Residents are encouraged to visit the Mesa Public Library branches to explore the All-America City exhibit and learn more about Mesa's remarkable journey. This recognition not only highlights the city's achievements but also serves as an inspiration for other communities striving to make a positive impact on their youth. Mesa's All-America City Experience is a testament to the power of community engagement and the limitless potential of its residents.
