The Gilbert Town Council in Arizona has expressed its condolences to the families of Preston Lord, Hailey Stephens, and Jamiere Jenkins, who lost their lives in separate acts of violence. The council strongly condemns violence of any kind and believes it has no place in the community.

In a statement, the Gilbert Town Council said, "Violence and hate have no place in our community, and we are unified in our cries for awareness and understanding." The council is committed to maintaining a safe community and will continue to allocate the necessary resources and support to achieve this goal.

The Gilbert Police Department has been actively involved in assisting the Queen Creek Police Department with their investigation into Preston's death. Authorities believe that the deaths of Hailey in Casa Grande and Jamiere in Pinal County are unrelated to Preston's case. Arrests have already been made in both the Casa Grande and Pinal County investigations.

The Gilbert Police Department has also been addressing social media posts alleging the involvement of a group of individuals from Gilbert in targeting teens in the East Valley. The department has thoroughly investigated all reported incidents and taken appropriate actions to ensure the safety of the community. The council urges residents to directly contact the police department with any relevant information or insight regarding a crime, rather than posting details on social media.

Gilbert has been recognized as the second safest city in America among the largest 100 cities, according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program. This achievement highlights the efforts of the Gilbert Police Department in ensuring the safety of the community. The department actively engages with the community through initiatives such as teen safety education, a dedicated crime prevention team, and informative social media channels.

Residents are encouraged to contact Gilbert's non-emergency line at (480) 503-6500 for any non-emergency concerns related to the town. In case of witnessing a crime or an emergency, residents should always dial 9-1-1.

The Gilbert Town Council and the Gilbert Police Department are fully committed to maintaining a safe and secure community, and their efforts continue to be focused on the well-being of the residents.
