Gilbert, Ariz. - The second phase of a Union Pacific Railroad construction project along Heritage Trail in Gilbert will happen on Saturday, December 16. Crews are finishing improvements to a new steel bridge installed earlier this month. As a result, the trail and levee road are going to be partially closed just south of Elliot and Lindsay Roads.

The final closure is scheduled for 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Union Pacific crews will be laying asphalt on the approaches to the steel bridge. A portion of the bike path in this area will need to remain closed until the project is complete.

The trail, bike path and levee road should be fully accessible by Sunday, December 17.
