Nominations are now being accepted for the Mayor’s Neighborhood Excellence Awards in Chandler, Arizona. Chandler neighborhood watch groups that hosted a community Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods (G.A.I.N.) event last year are encouraged to submit nominations. The nomination period is open through Friday, July 26, and can be completed online at Chandler Mayor’s Neighborhood Excellence Awards.
The annual awards aim to recognize Chandler neighborhoods for their participation in G.A.I.N., as well as those neighborhood leaders who continuously work to improve their community and inspire others to become more active and involved. Prizes for the winners will be applied towards this fall’s G.A.I.N. events.
There are two award categories: the Mayor’s Choice Award and the People’s Choice Award. Mayor Hartke will select the winner of the Mayor’s Choice Award. Online voting for the People’s Choice Award will begin on Monday, July 29, and continue through 5 p.m. on Monday, August 12, at Chandler Mayor’s Neighborhood Excellence Awards.
The winners will be announced during the G.A.I.N. kickoff event from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, at the Chandler Police Main Station community room located at 250 E. Chicago St.
