Imagine a world where young people speak for themselves with passion and authority. This is the aim of the upcoming Youth Poetry Anthology, which invites students to share their own stories through poetry.
The anthology's book release and student performance event are scheduled for April 6, coinciding with National Poetry Month. Submissions for the 2024 edition have already closed, but those interested in participating can check back in the fall for information about next year's submissions.
Eligibility criteria include being an active student in grades 7-12 in Arizona. Each entry must include a full name, email address, school name, and a poem not exceeding 1000 words. Submitted poems must be original works that have not been previously published on public platforms or included in other anthologies or contest results.
The selection process involves peer editors from LIT Ink who evaluate submissions based on content quality, voice consistency, style, and language mastery. There is no fee to enter.
Previous editions of the anthology include "Sunset Uncensored" from 2020 and "Roses for an Astronaut" from 2023.
