Courtney Davis has been elected as the President of the Governing Board for 2025. The decision was made during a board meeting held on January 14. In addition, Lacy Chaffee has been appointed as the Governing Board Clerk.

The announcement coincides with School Board Recognition Month, which is observed in January to acknowledge and honor the efforts of Governing Board members across the nation.

The Mesa Public Schools district expressed gratitude towards its five board members for their dedication and voluntary service, emphasizing that their commitment positively impacts both students and the community.

"January is School Board Recognition Month, a time to celebrate and honor the dedicated efforts of our Governing Board members," a statement from the district read. "As we join school districts nationwide in expressing gratitude, we extend a special note of appreciation to our five board members. Their commitment, demonstrated through countless unpaid hours, greatly benefits Mesa Public Schools, our students, and the entire community."
