Legacy Traditional Schools has announced its achievement of Cognia Systems Accreditation, covering 28 campuses across Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. This recognition by Cognia, a nonprofit organization that ensures quality assurance for educational institutions, marks a significant milestone for Legacy Traditional Schools.

Nicole Kirkley-Trumble, the chief academic officer of Legacy Traditional Schools, highlighted the importance of this accreditation. "Accreditation, as conferred by the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission, provides Legacy Traditional Schools a nationally recognized mark of quality for our school system," she said. Kirkley-Trumble emphasized that this status reflects their dedication to excellence and commitment to implementing meaningful changes based on evaluations and feedback.

Cognia's accreditation process requires schools to undergo both internal and external reviews. It assesses whether institutions meet stringent standards focused on learning environments, resource allocation, and leadership effectiveness. The accreditation is valid for six years if schools maintain these standards.

Dr. Mark A. Elgart, president and CEO of Cognia, praised Legacy Traditional Schools' efforts: “Cognia Systems Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire school system and its community on the primary goal of ensuring all students can flourish in engaging and equitable learning environments." He acknowledged the progress made by Legacy in meeting high standards impacting student learning.

Cognia operates globally with over 40,000 public and private institutions under its wing. It provides services aimed at improving education through various means including accreditation and assessment.

Legacy Traditional Schools offers tuition-free public charter education with an emphasis on comprehensive curriculum across multiple disciplines. In the 2024-25 academic year, it serves students in several regions including Greater Phoenix, Tucson, Maricopa County in Arizona; North Las Vegas and Henderson in Nevada; San Antonio in Texas; along with an online academy.
