Gilbert Public Schools (GPS) is offering a variety of summer programs this year, including both educational and recreational options for students from PreK to 12th grade. These programs aim to support intellectual and social growth through engaging activities.
The GPS Elementary Summer School is available for students from PreK through 6th grade. The program includes subjects such as art, language arts, math, music, physical education, and science. Junior High Prep courses are also offered for 7th and 8th-grade students to prepare them for upcoming math classes. Certified GPS teachers will lead the classes at Finley Farms Elementary School in Gilbert, Arizona.
Summer camps provided by GPS include Kindercamp Summer for children ages 3 to 6 and VIK Summer Camp for those entering grades 1 through 6. Additionally, The Zone Summer Camp caters to students aged 11 to 14. These camps offer various activities such as sports, arts and crafts, cooking classes, and field trips. Camps will be held at several elementary schools within the district.
In-Person Secondary Summer School courses are available for credit recovery at the junior high level and grade replacement at the high school level. Social studies and elective courses may be taken for first-time credit by high school students.
For those preferring an online option, GPS Global Academy offers online summer school courses with on-level, honors, and credit recovery options in a six-week session. Students can work flexibly during the session but must complete their final exams in person.
