There were 1,146 Asian students enrolled in Gilbert Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.2% less than the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Gilbert Unified District welcomed 33,210 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 3.5% of the student body to be the fourth most represented ethnicity in the district.

Among the 38 schools in Gilbert Unified District, Gilbert Classical Academy 7-12 recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 189 students.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
