There were 1,046 African American students enrolled in Gilbert Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.3% more than the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Gilbert Unified District welcomed 33,210 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 3.1% of the student body to be the third least represented ethnicity in the district.

Among the 38 schools in Gilbert Unified District, Gilbert High School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 90 students.
