On Thursday, May 23, the Chandler City Council is set to take action on the city’s Tentative 2024-25 Budget and the 2025-34 Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which is expected to be effective from July 1. During this meeting, residents will have an opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed city budget.

The council meeting will be open to residents and can also be accessed live on Cox Cable 11, or streamed through the city’s website or YouTube channel.

The subsequent council meeting on June 13 will include a public hearing on the 2024-25 budget, 2025-34 CIP and Property Tax Levy. This will be followed by formal adoption of the 2024-25 Budget and 2025-34 CIP. The vote on adoption of the Property Tax Levy is scheduled for June 27.

All three Council Meetings are slated to begin at 6 p.m., and will be held in the City Council Chambers located at 88 E. Chicago St.

Many services provided to Chandler residents are financed through the General Fund. These include police and fire services, libraries, maintenance of city streets, parks and other infrastructure. Revenues for these services largely come from local city sales tax and state-shared revenues.

Other services are financed through separate self-supporting Utility Funds. These encompass Water, Wastewater, Airport and Solid Waste services, as well as other Special Revenue and Capital Project funds.

The proposed budget is available for review online and in hard copy at the Downtown Chandler Library situated at 22 S. Delaware St., and at the City Clerk’s Office located at 175 S. Arizona Ave.

In preparation for this year's budget formulation process, an online survey was conducted by the city’s Budget Office from November 2023 through mid-January 2024. The results were presented to both Mayor and members of the City Council for their consideration.
