Tomorrow, Franklin Downtown will host a Parent Information Night from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the gym. The event will start with Mrs. Taylor discussing Title 1 and addressing questions from parents between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. Following this, parents are invited to stay for a session on Spalding and the Franklin program until 6:30 p.m. Principal Merritt has requested that students not attend.

As part of its Title 1 initiative, Franklin Downtown receives a monthly newsletter titled "Helping Children Learn: Tips Families Can Use to Help Children Do Better in School." Additionally, they receive a quarterly planner with ideas for supporting children's education daily. These resources will be shared through the Downtown Dispatch as they become available.

For two years, Franklin Downtown used ESSER funding to hire additional staff for ELA and Math interventions for grades 1-6. With ESSER funds no longer available, Title 1 funds are now being used to continue these instructional support services. The interventions have shown positive results based on student data and confidence levels.

The upcoming month of September is filled with events such as Parent Conference Week and Family Night at Peter Piper Pizza. Important dates include Labor Day on September 2nd (no school), an FPO Meeting on September 3rd, early release on September 13th marking the end of the first grading period, Family Night at Peter Piper Pizza on September 17th, and Parent Conference Week along with a Book Fair from September 23rd to September 27th.

Franklin Accelerated Academy-Downtown Campus can be contacted via email at frankw-attend@mpsaz.org or by phone at 480-472-5400. More information is available on their website.
