Franklin Downtown has issued its bi-weekly newsletter, providing parents and students with updates on the school community. Principal Tamara Merritt expressed gratitude for the support shown by families during the start of the school year, highlighting the importance of timely attendance, dress code adherence, and after-school routines.

The newsletter announced a Parent Information Night scheduled for Thursday, August 29th. The event will begin with Mrs. Taylor addressing Title 1 inquiries from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m., followed by sessions for kindergarten parents and those with children in grades 1-6 about the Spalding program.

Important dates for band and orchestra students were also outlined. Registration is required by Friday, August 16th for students in grades 4-6 interested in these programs. An informational meeting for parents will be held on Tuesday, August 20th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the gym.

In addition to program updates, Franklin Downtown reminded families about new student ID requirements as part of the dress code. Teachers will address any infractions and provide temporary IDs when necessary.

Upcoming events include a Student Council Election Assembly on Friday, August 16th, Band and Orchestra Parent Night on Tuesday, August 20th, and no school on Monday, September 2nd due to Labor Day.
