Franklin Accelerated Academy's Downtown Campus has achieved a significant milestone by earning a perfect score on the AZ Report Card. The school maintained its "A" letter grade with a score of 101.3%. Principal Merritt credited the students for their dedication and resilience, stating, "Our students embrace challenges in their learning every day on our campus and never give up." She also expressed gratitude to families for their support and encouraged everyone to anticipate future accomplishments.
The school is set to launch its annual Fall Food Drive next week on Tuesday, November 12th. The Student Council will lead this community service initiative. On Friday, the student council president will distribute collection bags to each student and place collection boxes in classrooms. The drive aims to fill a large collection box at the office with much-needed items such as canned fruits and vegetables, canned fish and meats, rice, beans, pasta, cereal, oatmeal, soup, and peanut butter.
A Veterans Day assembly is scheduled for Friday, November 8th from 8:20-9:20 AM. The event will begin with a flag ceremony in the courtyard before moving into the gymnasium. Students have prepared a special song under the guidance of music teacher Ms. Dixon to honor veterans. Families are invited to attend.
The academy continues to offer field trips at no cost through donations made via the AZ ECA Tax Credit program. Principal Merritt encourages community members to participate by donating even if they do not have children enrolled in schools. Information about making donations is available on the district website or at the school's office.
Upcoming events include Track and Field Days for various grades later this month and Thanksgiving Break from November 27th-29th.
