Mesa Public Schools names superintendent finalists after special board meeting

The Mesa Public Schools Governing Board has revealed the three finalists for the position of Superintendent of Schools. This announcement follows a special board meeting held on November 25, 2024.

The candidates include Dr. Anna Battle, who is currently serving as Deputy Superintendent at Roosevelt School District; Juan Ceja, Deputy Superintendent at Tolleson Union High School District; and Dr. Matthew Strom, Associate Superintendent at Mesa Public Schools.

These finalists are scheduled to engage in a series of interview activities on December 3 and 4. The process will involve school tours, forums with stakeholders, a written activity, and multiple interviews with the Governing Board. Additionally, all three candidates will participate in a live question-and-answer session on December 3 at 7 p.m., which will be available for viewing via the district’s YouTube Channel.
