As the Lunar New Year celebrations begin, the City of Mesa has introduced new monument signage for the Asian District Mesa. The sign is located at Dobson Road and Main Street, in front of Mekong Plaza.

Mayor Mark Freeman stated, "The Asian District is not just a vital part of Mesa's economy; it's a celebration of the cultural diversity that makes our city unique." He emphasized that the new signage symbolizes Mesa's support for this community.

Councilmember Francisco Heredia added, "The Asian District is a space where cultures intersect and thrive. It's a point of pride for Mesa, and today's unveiling underscores the importance of fostering inclusivity and growth."

Jaye ODonnell, Mesa Economic Development Director, remarked on the significance of this development: "This monument signage is a milestone in our efforts to promote the Asian District as a premier destination for culture, community, and commerce."

The district spans Dobson Road between Main Street and Broadway Road. It hosts about 100 businesses offering diverse cuisines from Chinese to Filipino origins along with grocery stores and cultural events.

Mesa plans further investments to ensure continued growth through infrastructure improvements and business programs. The design features a tangram puzzle representing unity among diverse cultures within the community.
