Rio Salado College recently marked the inauguration of its East Valley Rotaract Club with a successful first meeting on February 20. The gathering took place on the sixth floor of the Tempe Tower, where attendees engaged in discussions, shared a meal, and enjoyed each other's company. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Rotaract members keen to contribute positively to their community.
The meeting featured special guests from sponsoring Rotary clubs, including Mesa West Rotary Club, Tempe South Rotary Club, and Camelback Crossroads Rotary Club. Their support is considered invaluable as the new club begins its journey.
East Valley Rotaract members have been presented with opportunities to participate in five service events and three social events throughout March. These activities aim to foster community service and strengthen member relationships.
Leadership roles within the club were also discussed, offering members a chance to develop professional skills and gain leadership experience.
Acknowledgments were extended to all attendees for their contributions and ideas. Gratitude was expressed towards sponsor Rotary clubs, college leadership, and the Arizona Rotaract District Council for their guidance. Special thanks went to Kamal Della, past president of the Rotary Club of Dublin, who attended and gifted a Rotary club flag and pins.
The East Valley Rotaract Club at Rio Salado College invites students, staff, and community members aged 18 through 100+ to join in taking action through community service while enhancing professional skills. Monthly meetings along with service opportunities and social events are part of the club's offerings.
Upcoming events include regular club meetings on March 6 and March 19 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., as well as a social event at Mesa Arts Museum on March 21 from 10 a.m. to noon.
