He holds degrees from Marquette University and the University of Arizona.

On January 31, 2025, Rep. Greg Stanton expressed concerns about the impact of tariffs on fuel prices. He stated: "Trump's tariffs? You'll feel them at the gas pump."

Later that day, he highlighted his visit to Afghan families at the Arizona Refugee Center. Emphasizing the importance of supporting Afghan allies who assisted U.S. troops, he advocated for legislative action: "I visited with Afghan families at the Arizona Refugee Center this week... We owe it to them to do everything we can to help them find stability and opportunity here—including passing the Afghan Adjustment Act."

On February 1, 2025, Rep. Stanton commemorated Black History Month by recognizing influential Black Americans who have contributed significantly to American history: "This #BlackHistoryMonth, we celebrate Black Americans who have shaped the American story & identity... these trailblazers are essential to American history."
